Parmesan cheese: Use freshly grated if you can. Pre-grated in the green can works but fresh Parmesan melts better and sticks to the dough instead of just sitting on top.
Garlic powder: It distributes more evenly than fresh garlic here. Fresh garlic burns at 425°F before the dough is done.
Tips to Make It Perfect
Cut the pieces evenly: Uneven sizes mean some pieces are done while others are still doughy. I try to keep everything close to 1 inch so they all finish at the same time.
Leave space between pieces on the tray: Crowded pieces steam each other instead of getting golden. Give them room and you get better color all around.

Add a second Parmesan hit right out of the oven: The cheese you sprinkle on top fresh sticks to the hot surface and gives you that extra savory crust. I never skip this step.
Check at 12 minutes: These go fast. Pull one piece and tear it open to check the inside is cooked through before you call them done.

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoonsbutter (melted)
- 1/2 cupParmesan cheese (grated)
- 1/2 teaspoongarlic powder

Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
