Ingredients
- 400 g (14 oz) mozzarella balls or cubed mozzarella
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried basil (or 1 tbsp fresh, chopped)
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional but recommended)
Instructions
- Drain the mozzarella well and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- If using a large block, cut mozzarella into bite-sized cubes (about 2–3 cm).
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, oregano, basil, chili flakes, black pepper, salt, and minced garlic. Mix well.
- Add the mozzarella cubes to the marinade and gently toss until fully coated.
- Transfer to a container or jar, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (preferably 4–8 hours for deeper flavor).
- Before serving, let it sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes so the oil loosens and flavors bloom.
