Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Djon Maple Butter Sauce

Roasted Brussels sprouts are one of my favorite side dishes. It’s simple, quick to make, and always ends up caramelized and crispy on the outside while tender inside.

You can make it simple with just garlic, salt and pepper or make it a little bolder with honey balsamic. You can also add pomegranate seeds, cheese, or make the popular Brussels sprouts bacon. I will make the version with Dijon maple butter sauce.

This side is a popular accompaniment to many meals, including holiday dinners and everyday meals. You can pair it with hearty main dishes like grilled salmon, roasted chicken, or seared steak.

Easy Roasted Brussels Sprouts recipe

Their rich, slightly sweet flavor complements creamy mashed potatoes and adds texture when served alongside garlic butter pasta. For a vegetarian meal, they can be a wonderful side to lentil stew or quinoa salad. They also match nicely with seasonal favorites, like turkey dishes or a mushroom risotto for a cozy dinner.

Here’s how to make the roasted Brussels sprouts with Dijon maple butter sauce:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Dijon Maple Butter Sauce

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Spread Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to coat.
  4. Arrange cut-side down and roast for 20–25 minutes, until browned and crisp.
  5. Meanwhile, melt butter in a small saucepan.
  6. Whisk in Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and lemon juice until smooth.
  7. Remove Brussels sprouts from the oven and toss with the warm Dijon maple butter sauce.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes
